Thoughts 💭 : This 2022 edition of Yorkshire Day was matured in ex-Bourbon, ex-Oloroso and ex-Moscatel casks at cask strength giving this a huge Sherry influence with a punch. The bourbon influence lends to sweeter flavours coming through the whisky. The Yorkshire Day whiskies are a bit more experimental from Filey Bay, this one works well although it’s a touch bitter for my liking. Nevertheless it’s a great whisky, good flavours and complexity and cask strength. For a sweeter smoother alternative there is the Filey Bay Sherry Cask Reserve, it’s not cask strength but sweet and smooth and delicious.
