Colour 🌈: Dark Amber

Nose👃🏼: Sherried soaked fruits, dates, chocolate caramel, brown sugar, cherry bakewells and furniture polish

Taste 👅: Deep Sherry with a blast of ginger spice that leads into charred oak. Further sips give cherry coulis, coffee and bittersweet dark chocolate

Finish 🏁 : Cracked black pepper, dry red wine and a hint of fruitiness

Thoughts 💭: A tasty and hard hitting whisky from the Lakes. The 52% certainly packs a punch and combined with the PX and Oloroso Sherry finishes give a very warming finish. The red wine casks throw in some interesting fruity flavours and you definitely get that dry finish you get from red wine. Some say it’s not as good as the No. 4 and whilst the No.4 is very tasty I think it’s important to treat each as their own whisky and try not draw too many comparisons. In conclusion it is one you will enjoy!
