Compass Box Glasgow Blend Single Marrying Cask 49% abv

Picture of Compass Box Glasgow Blend Singly Marrying Cask

Colour 🌈: Caramel

Nose👃🏼: Hints of smoke followed by orange marmalade, red berries, honey, nuts and white spirit

Taste 👅: Peat smoke, salty seaweed and sweet undertones of vanilla

Finish 🏁 : Smoke leads to chilli heat and dry oak

Thoughts 💭: I was a little underwhelmed by this one as I expected a bit more complexity. I was surprised to find peat smoke when it was described as unpeated but on investigation the blend contains Craigallachie, Cameronbridge, Clynelish, Laphroaig and a highland malt blend. The fact Laphroaig is included in the mixture indicates there was likely to be some smoke surely?
