𝙰𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝 📝 : Cask Na Nollaig is an Islay blended malt shaped entirely by the spirit of Christmas, taking inspiration from Scottish folklore and the nostalgia of the festive season. Drawn from a blend of Islay distilleries, it carries the island’s unmistakable character but with a distinctly celebratory twist. What makes it truly rare is its maturation: the whisky was aged exclusively in pure port casks from the day it was distilled, an unusual and highly specialised approach that infuses the spirit with depth, warmth and a rich seasonal character. A whisky crafted to capture the essence of winter gatherings

❄️ Non Chill Filtered
🖍 Natural Colour
Strength 💪 : 46% ABV
Colour 🌈 : Luxurious Caramel
Nose👃🏼 : Coastal sea breeze, lashings of beach campfire, charred pineapple, banana skin, poached prunes, blackberry jam and vanilla fudge with a hint of tcp (Laphroaig?)
Taste 👅 : Deep fried smoked seaweed, medicinal notes, harsh hit of peat, big notes of saline and moist oak. There’s a taste here almost dusty like an old whisky, dark fruity flavours trickle through along with sweeter notes like red berry jam and a note of smoky fudge.
Finish 🏁 : Plum skin, old blueberries that should have been eaten last week and oak spices
Thoughts 💭 : A lovely sweet and fruity dram packing a big smoky punch that definitely gives that warming feeling during the winter period.
A blended Islay malt it may be and whilst it holds no age statement there’s a deep taste of oak in there that makes it taste old. I can’t say I know what the blend is but if there was no Laphroaig in the mix I would be rather surprised.
