Thoughts 💭 : Shoulders of Giants – Bimber: Sax – The Inventor is a single malt matured in a single Pedro Ximénez (PX) cask, which has contributed a lush, sherried richness to the whisky. Created to honour Adolphe Sax, the renowned Belgian-French musician and inventor (1814–1894), this release celebrates his legacy in the music world. Sax, best known for inventing the saxophone in the 1840s (and patenting it in 1846), was also the mind behind other instruments like the saxtuba, saxhorn, and saxotromba, and he even redesigned the bass clarinet. His pioneering spirit resonates with Bimber’s dedication to craft and innovation in whisky making.
Bottled at cask strength and unfiltered, this limited release showcases the depth and complexity of PX cask maturation, making it a fitting tribute to Sax’s bold contributions to music and invention.
