🖍 Colour: not stated

Colour 🌈 : Gold

Nose👃🏼 : Orange peel, corn on the cob, rye bread, aniseed and caramel

Taste 👅 : Caramel, buttery rye bread toasted, citrus zest and black pepper

Finish 🏁 : Dry rye crackers and oak spices

Thoughts 💭 : Canadian blended whisky from none other than Kiefer Sutherland. You can almost imagine it would be something he knocked back after a rough 24 hours fighting terrorists. Along with Kiefer it was co-founded by Gary Briggs, Shawn Hiscott and Rob Steele.
There’s an oily mouthfeel to it and a little spice too. It’s already bringing in awards as well, so if you like Canadian whisky then this may be one to put on the list.

Want to try it in a cocktail? Try this:

New York Sour:
– Lemon juice from 1 lemon
– 1/2 ounce sugar syrup
– 2 ounces of Red Bank Canadian Whisky

Put them all into a cocktail shaker full of ice and give it a good shake and strain into a glass filled with ice.

Pour over a spoon 1 ounce (or eyeball it like me) of fruity red wine (or whatever you have) gently and slowly so that it sits on the surface.

Rub the rim of the glass with lemon peel and then twist and add the peel as garnish.

Sláinte!
