Colour 🌈 : Light Gold

Nose👃🏼 : Crumbly shortbread, orange zest, honey, barley sugar, ripe pears, stone fruits and ginger spice

Taste 👅 : Barley sugar, apple peels, pear drops, orange marmalade, stone fruits and black pepper spice

Finish 🏁 : Orange zest, more stone fruits  and dry oak

Thoughts 💭 : Great dram, full of bittersweet fruity flavours along with a good deal of spice with a medium mouthfeel. This initially matured in a refill Hogshead before moving to a French oak cask that previously held Loupiac sweet wine. Loupiac wine is known as a dessert wine in France so you can imagine this has heightened the sweet fruity flavours in this whisky.
