Colour 🌈 : Gold

Nose👃🏼 : Pear drops, brown sugar, hay, chilli, cloves and manuka honey

Taste 👅 : Pear drops come through, chilli spice, orange marmalade and sweet honey with subtle hints of chocolate

Finish 🏁 : Tannin and manuka honey

Thoughts 💭 : An ok dram, it’s super spicy and incredibly bittersweet with a mouthfeel that is oily.
This to me is only an ok dram, if it was sold at 1/5th of its price I would consider it decent enough value being cask strength but still wouldn’t be one for me. Where it sits at around £250 (Nov 2023) is madness. It’s all about the aesthetics with this whisky and the facts it’s had a Japanese whisky finish. There’s no age statement so for all we know you’re paying that for a 3 year old although that’s unlikely.
