❄️ Non Chill Filtered
🖍 Natural Colour
Colour 🌈: Deep Caramel
Nose👃🏼: Green apples and grass, floral notes, honey, smoky embers of a campfire and some light toffee
Taste 👅: Light smoke like charred oak comes through first, sweet flavours of cinder toffee, honeyed malt, fruit peel and cracked black pepper providing spice
Finish 🏁 : Lingering black pepper spice, the smoke dies out and gives way to more honey and some orange peel
Thoughts 💭: I’m not a great fan of peat but this one sits comfortably for me, I mean it’s not peated but there is certainly smoke coming through from that shaven, toasted and recharred cask. You can virtually taste the oak being burnt. The smoke isn’t overwhelming though and fades out without leaving a smoky flavour with you. In all this is a pleasant dram although I’d like to see White Peak distillery using some Sherry casks to compliment the sweet flavours their whisky imparts.
Sláinte!
