Thoughts 💭 : The Macallan double cask whiskies are matured in both hand picked American and European Oloroso Sherry oak seasoned casks.
They actually take American Oak and transport it to Spain where it is crafted into casks before being Sherry seasoned and then transported to speyside for the whisky to mature in. After this the whisky is “harmoniously united” with whisky matured in European Sherry seasoned oak casks.
This whisky is as smooth and balanced as you would expect from Macallan. It’s like being in an airport First class lounge drinking whisky and nibbling pastries with pilots. This is sophistication embodied into whisky.
