Thoughts 💭: A whisky close to my heart, Glen Aln comes from my hometown of Alnwick in the North East of England. This blend is from the Alnwick Rum company in honour of the original Glen Aln made in the 1950’s.
It’s a blend of scotch and grain whiskies aged in Sherry casks, unfortunately the sherry influence is minimal and a little lost in the blend. The whisky itself is ok but lacks depth and good character although still better than some whiskies that sit on supermarket shelves.
Overall its a whisky a bit like Alnwick itself, it starts off a little boring but the more you have the more interesting it becomes but it has its limits.
Sláinte!
