Colour 🌈: Straw
Nose👃🏼: Very much as the bottle describes along with Varnish, Sweet intense manuka honey, wheat and barley
Taste 👅: Sweet honey along with intense flavours of a good bourbon. Rye, corn, butterscotch, ginger and pepper spice
Finish 🏁 : Sweet vanilla comes through with buttery toast and brown sugar
Thoughts 💭: Fairly underrated, this is a beauty of a whisky. Giving the youngest whisky in the blend is 30 years old and the price, this is a bargain. The descriptive name of the bottle certainly lends to itself and at a guess I would say the whiskies must have matured in ex bourbon barrels or American oak (it’s not stated), good bourbon flavours pop through to the point you could almost mistake it for bourbon.
At 40% it goes down fairly easy too making this a very easy sipper and a pleasant one at that!
Sláinte!
